Die Trauben wurden vom 9. bis 14. September per Hand gelesen.
Die Erntemengen je Stock betrugen:
Vinha Velha 930 g
Touriga Nacional 1,2 kg
Sousao 1,4 kg
Tinta Barroca 1,6 kg

Die Trauben wurden in den Lagares auf der Quinta fussgetreten; die Gärung erfolgte durch natürliche Hefen. 9000 Flaschen wurden ohne Filterung, Schönung o.ä. im Mai/Juni 2004 abgefüllt.

Die Zeitschrift PORTUGUESE WINES zählt ihn zu den "Year's Best '04" und verlieh ihm den "Award of Excellence" "An aroma of cherry and morello cherry with a positive chemical touch in the floral notes. The wine's vigour is evident on the palate, with some alcohol that will integrate with bottle aging and satiny tannins. Rounded and dense, ending in a long and potent finish. (...) The grapes picked in the first six days resulted in this excellent Vintage 2002, which shines in a year when few Shippers opted to declare Vintages."
